Courses Teach the Skills to be an Effective Leader
NCTI Targets Up and Coming Leaders with New Certification Program
Littleton, CO –April 24, 2018-Building upon its first quarter momentum, NCTI, the Industry leader in training and education, has announced the launch of its Emerging Leader Certification Program. Ideal for soon-to-be or newly-promoted managers and supervisors, the Emerging Leader curriculum teaches and/or sharpens the skills necessary to be an effective and respected leader.
“MSOs tell us they welcome the opportunity to promote individuals who succeed at their jobs into managerial roles,” said Stacey Slaughter, CEO of NCTI. “Unfortunately, they sometimes see those same individuals struggle, once promoted, because they haven’t been given the proper tools to thrive as leaders. The courses required for the Emerging Leader certificate impart the foundational skills and address issues and concerns top of mind for every organization.”
The Emerging Leader certification is comprised of eight courses, developed and taught by subject matter expert, Dr. Liz Selzer. Leadership 101 and Mentoring 101 teach the essential skills to leverage individual strengths and the strengths of others to maximize the collective impact, and instill the importance of the mentoring process, building relationships and setting goals. The remaining six courses are more granular and address critical topics any leader, new or seasoned, needs to be familiar with and know how to effectively and realistically address. They are: Working Across Generations and Maximizing Diversity, Effective Communication, Healthy Conflict Management, Building Synergistic Teams, Managing and Promoting Change, and Organizational Development, Change and Innovation.
Although targeted toward the new or newer leader, Slaughter says the curriculum is relevant to anyone at any level within an organization. NCTI recommends this curriculum to senior managers, vice presidents and C-level executives to hone their leadership aptitude.
