This new certification is the evolution of NCTI’s well-known Master Technician Certification and focuses exclusively on fiber-optic technology. The program provides a complete pathway for technicians to develop advanced skills in fiber-optic installation, maintenance, and construction.

A Complete Pathway to Fiber Mastery
Technicians earn the Master Fiber-Optic Technician Certification by completing four progressive course collections within NCTI’s Fiber Tech 360 curriculum. Each step builds toward mastery, awarding digital badges and certifications along the way:
- Foundational Fiber-Optic Badge — Covers optical signal technologies, tools, splicing, and network architectures.
- Fiber-Optic Installer Badge — Focuses on safety, residential and business installation, and troubleshooting. Completion with Foundations earns the Fiber-Optic Installer Certification.
- Fiber-Optic Maintenance Technician Badge — Emphasizes outside plant activation, troubleshooting, and restoration, leading to the Fiber-Optic Maintenance Technician certification when combined with the Foundational and Installer badges.
- Fiber Construction Badge — Focuses on OSP design, installation, and activation. Combine with the Fiber-Optic Foundations badge to earn the Fiber-Optic Construction certification.
