Estimated Length: 30 seat hours
Understanding computer networks, their functions, and their components is the focus of this course. Students will learn about cabling and topology, IP addressing, TCP versus UDP versus IGMP, SOHO routers, wireless networking, virtualization and cloud computing.
Course content covers different computing devices and network configurations, and the concept of security and risk management. Using this course as a guide, students will be prepared to take the CompTIA Network+ examination with confidence. It is helpful that students have a basic familiarity with computer networks, but it is not required.
The estimated completion time for this course is 30 hours. The maximum allotted time is four months from enrollment.
