Outline:

Ratios, Proportions and Percents

Write a comparison of two numbers as a ratio, write a ratio as a fraction, decimal numeral or unit ratio, solve a proportion, recognize/set up/ solve direct and indirect proportion applications, convert among fractions, decimals and percents and solve rate/base/percentage problems

Units of Measure

Identify significant digits, identify which of two numbers is more accurate or precise, round numbers to the accuracy or precision required and use dimensional analysis

Signed Numbers

Use rules of operations on signed numbers, find powers/roots of signed numbers and use order of operation

Powers of Ten and Scientific Notation

Convert to/from scientific notation, multiply/ divide powers of ten and numbers in scientific notation

Algebraic Operations

Recognize/add/subtract like terms, multiply/ divide monomials and use the distributive law

Algebraic Equations and Formulas

Solve and check linear equations, including those containing grouping symbols and fractions and evaluate/solve formulas

Systems of Equations

Solve systems of equations in two variables by substitution/addition

Use of Angles

Identify/draw acute, obtuse, right, straight, vertical, complementary, supplementary, alternate interior, alternate exterior and corresponding angles, convert between degreeminutes rees-tenths, add/subtract measures of angles and solve angle problems

Triangles

Identify/draw acute, obtuse, isosceles, equilateral and right triangles, use Pythagorean theorem to solve a right triangle, find perimeter/area of a triangle and solve similar triangle problems

Circles and Polygons

Identify squares, rectangles, parallelograms and trapezoids, find perimeter/area of a quadrilateral, identify regular pentagons, hexagons and octagons, find perimeter/area of regular polygons, identify diameter, radius, circumference and arc of a circle and find circumference, area, arc length and area

Geometric Solids

Identify prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones and spheres, identify critical characteristics of geometric solids and find surface area/volume of geometric solids

Basic Trig Properties for Sin, Cos and Tan

Write trig ratios for angles in a right triangle, solve right triangle problems, find trig ratios for angles in standard position, use a hand-held calculator to find angles and function values and use Laws of Sines and Cosines

Vectors

Sketch vectors and convert between polar operator forms

Finance

Calculate costs and analyze data, solve simple and compound interest problems, sketch/read line, bar, circle and coordinate plane graphs and use graphs to interpret data
