Delivering Broadband Services

Course Overview

Broadband connectivity is the backbone of modern communication, driving innovation and connectivity in our digital world. The NCTI® Delivering Broadband Services course is designed to equip technicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, maintain, and troubleshoot the infrastructure and services that deliver broadband to homes and businesses. Broadband service delivery requires a comprehensive understanding of the technologies and processes that make it possible. This course helps technicians become familiar with the basics of signal transmission, fiber optics, and hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks, as well as the practical aspects of installing and maintaining aerial and underground drops. It takes the student through each part of the network and demonstrates the practices that personnel must follow to perform installations at the customer premises. Triple-play service delivery and customer equipment connections are covered in detail. Also included are lessons on system maintenance, troubleshooting, federal and local regulations, and safety.

The growing demand for high-speed connectivity, streaming media, and smart devices drives the future of broadband services. By mastering these lessons, technicians will play a critical role in connecting communities and shaping the future of communication technology.
