DAA and High-Split Networks

Course Overview

The NCTI® DAA and High-Split Networks course provides the fundamental features of Distributed Access Architectures (DAA) and high-split configurations, which enable capacity and performance advancements in hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) networks without requiring a complete rebuild. DAA streamlines the integration of advanced technologies like DOCSIS 4.0 and enhances network management and signal performance, enabling the effective deployment of high-split configurations. Together, these technologies create a broadband infrastructure built for the future. This course explores the evolution and current state of HFC networks, and their transition to next-generation systems. It also explains the roles of DAA and high-split designs in shaping the future of the cable industry, as well as the critical factors to consider when implementing them. Students will gain practical knowledge of DAA and high-split testing requirements and learn to use specialized equipment to test various components of the network, including optical fiber, Ethernet, RF plant, and coaxial systems.
The estimated completion time for this course is 2 hours. The maximum allotted time is four months from enrollment.
