Business Services for Technicians

Course Overview

Due to the rise of VoIP and cloud communications, the expansion of high-speed data (HSD) services, the complexity of enterprise Wi-Fi environments, and the need for structured troubleshooting, today's technicians are expected not only to install hardware but also to understand networking protocols, IP configuration, cloud-based voice systems, cybersecurity fundamentals, and customer experience. The NCTI® Business Services for Technicians course equips technicians with the knowledge and skills to install, configure, and support business-class communication services across data, voice, video, and Wi-Fi environments. Learners will explore the full service lifecycle, from customer engagement and site preparation to equipment installation, service verification, and troubleshooting.

Through practical, real-world scenarios, participants will develop expertise in networking fundamentals, commercial video distribution, VoIP and cloud voice systems, and enterprise wireless deployment. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, meeting customer expectations, and delivering high-quality service across small- to large-sized business environments. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to confidently deploy and maintain reliable, scalable business solutions and effectively diagnose and resolve complex service issues.
